Deputy Gov Clarifies that Jakarta Never Collaborates with ACT

TEMPO.CO, JakartaJakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria clarified his previous statement about collaboration with Aksi Cepat Tanggap or ACT humanitarian group that recently seizes the public spotlight due to the case of alleged embezzlement of donations.

Riza asserted that Jakarta had never collaborated with the institution.

“ACT did not sign an MoU with the Provincial Government, but with Baznas (the National Alms Agency) as far as I know,” he said at the City Hall, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

According to the Gerindra Party politician, ACT's internal problems have nothing to do with the city government. When collaborating with third parties, he emphasized that the city would conduct the monitoring, evaluation, and supervision.

Although the management of public funds by ACT is suspected to be problematic, Riza keeps encouraging other private sectors or third parties to continue to work together and build a good Jakarta so that the city will be advanced and the citizens will be happy as its motto.

Riza also ensured that the provincial government did not cooperate with ACT in the distribution of qurban meat this year.

Previously reported, Riza stated that Jakarta had several times collaborated with the private sector, including ACT, and that the partnership with the humanitarian group had never faced a problem by far.

“Because Jakarta always collaborates in synergy with all parties including private third parties, communities, activists, and so on,” he said at the City Hall, Central Jakarta, Monday, July 4, 2022.
