TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria signaled the possible reopening of Holywings outlets after the city authorities closed 12 of the nightlife business establishment outlets spread across the city due to violations against rules overseeing liquor consumption.
"Well, every business entity that can meet the regulatory requirements has equal rights. Everything and everyone" said the deputy governor at Jakarta's City Hall on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.
Just yesterday, the Head of the Jakarta Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) Arifin asserted that businesses must show good intention to complete their required documents.
"If they ignore the rules and regulations, we will surely act," said the Satpol PP leader.
The Jakarta Deputy Governor explained that the temporary closure of a number of outlets was initially sparked by the public outrage after Holywings' social platform account launched a promotion campaign on free liquor for customers named Muhammad and Maria.
"This problem was sparked by acts of blasphemy. As we surely all know, it involved the use of the names Muhammad and Maria in their social media promotion on Holywings' Instagram account," said the deputy.
Riza then strongly urged Holywings, along with other business establishments based in the capital city to use proper marketing strategies and strongly avoid aspects of ethnicity, religion, race, and societal groups (SARA). Patria also mentioned permit certification for operating a bar, where Holywings serves liquor that does not have its proper permit.
