TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has issued a new regulation as the capital is now under the least restrictive COVID-19 curbs or PPKM Level 1. In the new policy, restaurants or cafes that are open at night are allowed to operate until 02:00 a.m.
“[Restaurants and cafes] can serve dine-in customers from 06:00 p.m. until 02:00 a.m. under strict health protocols,” as read in the new PPKM Level 1 rules published on the city’s official page ppid.jakarta.go.id on Friday, May 27, 2022.
The provision was noted in Gubernatorial Regulation No. 3 of 2021 concerning the implementation of Regional Regulation No. 2 of 2020 on the COVID-19 handling.
The dining venues can also open at full capacity yet all visitors and employees are required to use the PeduliLindungi mobile app. “And only those with the green category in the PeduliLindungi app may enter unless they cannot be vaccinated due to health reasons.”
Meanwhile, restaurants or cafes that are open in the morning, such as food stalls or warteg, street vendors, and others, can only operate until 10:00 p.m. with full capacity.
As previously reported, the central government decided to drop the level of the COVID-19 curbs in Jakarta from PPKM Level 2 to Level 1 following the improving COVID-19 trend. This takes effect from May 24 until June 6, 2022, as stipulated in the Home Affairs Ministerial Instruction No. 26 of 2022 on PPKM in the Java and Bali regions.
