TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Communications and Informatics Minister Johnny G. Plate said a number of foreign companies expressed interest in developing 4G and 5G networks in Indonesia at the World Economic Forum Country Strategic Dialogue.
“Including Ericson (Sweden-based communication technology firm), who has known Indonesia very well and its establishment for a long time. They are greatly interested and well acknowledge the high potential of Indonesia's digital economy,” said Johnny in front of reporters after the forum in Davos, Switzerland, Wednesday, May 25, 2022.
The meeting, which was attended by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang, discussed topics related to sustainable energy to support industry and digital transformation.
Indonesia’s business partners who were present showed their interest in taking part in the country's policies and grand plans to conduct the transition to sustainable energy.
The investors’ interest was also supported by Indonesia's economic growth of 5.01 percent in the first quarter of 2022 and the potential of its digital economy with a digital valuation of around US$315 billion.
Additionally, they expressed support for financing green infrastructure and developing Indonesia's digital talents.
