TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan invited the people of Jakarta to read the Quran simultaneously at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, so as to support the city’s alms agency Baznas DKI’s Ramadan 1433 H program dubbed Jakarta Cinta Quran.
During the fasting month, Baznas DKI launched 12 routine programs, such as distributing alms, providing 200 young imams to 1,000 mosques, giving free takjil in 144 TransJakarta bus stops, and free tattoo removal for 1,000 people.
“This is a program organized by BAZNAS (BAZIS) and I want to support it. Let's take part in this extraordinary movement together,” said Anies via video message on Tuesday, April 19.
Through the Jakarta Cinta Quran program, Baznas DKI encouraged Jakartans to read the Quran at the same time in their respective places. “We can recite the Quran simultaneously anywhere, be it at home, at the bus stop, at the station, at the office, at the park, at the mosque, anywhere,” he added.
The verses suggested were Surah Al Fatihah and Surah Ar Rahman as a manifestation of the blessings that God has bestowed on humans.
“Let's get blessings in the month of Ramadan and make this city more advanced and fill with happy citizens, and get His blessings. Let's support Jakarta BAZNAS (BAZIS) activities,” said Anies Baswedan.
