TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati asked Public Service Agencies or BLU to create a sustainability effect for the national economy. One of them is by using domestic products in each of its service developments.
"Use domestic products, create spillover linkage to the domestic economy so that our economy develops," Minister Sri said at the 2022 BLU Coordination Meeting in Jakarta, Wednesday, March 30.
One of the BLUs in question is the BLU in the health sector, which she said needs to continue to improve facilities, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
BLU hospital governance, for example, must be improved, the minister said. This includes procuring locally-made medical devices, involving domestic industries.
She said that locally-made medical devices are as good as imported ones. "We can build good hospitals with medical devices that are produced at home."
In general, the minister said, the use of domestic products will not only improve education and health services but also create public welfare.
She Sri Mulyani also reminded that in involving national industry, corruption and conflicts of interest must be avoided at all costs, as health equipment is vital for public health services.
