80 Indonesian Citizens Arrive in Jakarta from Ukraine

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Eighty Indonesians and three foreign citizens arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Thursday, March 3, at around 17:10 Jakarta time. The Indonesian nationals and their families landed in their home country after being evacuated from Ukraine.
Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi said the other 12 people are still in Bucharest as they tested positive for Covid-19 and two others decided to stay to accompany their children who are exposed to Coronavirus.
"The 14 people will be monitored and accompanied by Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Bucharest. If their health condition is improved, they'll be repatriated by using a commercial flight," the minister said.
The repatriation team from Jakarta departed to Bucharest from Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Tuesday, March 2, at 18:40 West Indonesia Time. They arrived at Henri Coanda Airport in Bucharest on March 3, at 15:10 local time.
They flew back from Bucharest to Jakarta at 20:23 local time or around 5.5 hours after they landed in Bucharest. The trip of the Bucharest-Madinah-Jakarta route took around 17 hours.
The 80 Indonesians and 3 foreign citizens from Ukraine will go through health and immigration checks before they are allowed to meet their family in the home country.
