TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi said that the government will begin to implement a one-price policy for cooking oil. After midnight or as of January 19, 2022, the sales price for cooking oil is fixed at Rp14,000 per liter.

"They are intended for household consumption, as well as small and micro businesses," the minister said in a press conference, Tuesday, January 18.

Minister Lutfi said the fixed price of Rp14,000 per liter applies to all types of packaged cooking oil—both premium and simple packaging.

For the initial phase, the price application will apply to cooking oil products sold in modern retail or members of the Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (Aprindo).

As for cooking oil sold in the modern market, the one-price policy is implemented by next week at the latest.

The minister said he hopes the policy would help the public buy cooking oil at affordable prices.
