TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators on Thursday gathered statements from a number of people to collect data for the alleged Formula E event graft case in the capital city of Jakarta.
“This activity is surely a follow up from the information voiced by the people to the KPK about the Formula E event in Jakarta,” said KPK spokesperson Ali Fikri in a statement on Thursday, November 4.
He explained that the investigation cannot be made public yet as authorities are still gathering data in the initial phase of the investigation. However, he urged the public to show support for attempts to eradicate corruption by supervising KPK’s performance.
Reported earlier, a public forum touted as the ‘community forum for justice’ reported the city’s governor Anies Baswedan to the KPK over alleged corruption in the plan to host the all-electric racing series, Formula E. Their main concern, which is based on the rally staged by the group at the KPK headquarters, is the governor’s persistence to fulfill the commitment fee to Formula E organizers amidst a pandemic.
