TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta-owned developer PT Jakarta Propertindo or Jakpro is set to open the revitalization project area of Taman Ismail Marzuki or TIM for the public every Thursday, announced the firm’s expert staff Hendro Subroto. He said this aims at allowing people to know the construction progress of each facility.
“We are obliged to inform the progress as a disclosure of information to the public,” said Hendro, adding that people have the right to know about the revamp progress of the city’s arts and cultural center.
The provincial government assigned Jakpro to revitalize TIM with a budget of Rp1.64 trillion in 2019. The capital had also injected the regional capital investment for Jakpro totaling Rp270 billion in 2020.
“This project is an assignment from the provincial government. This means it uses the regional investment scheme (PMD) that is also public funds. So this is a form of our responsibility to the public,” Hendro explained.
People interested in seeing the progress of the project must first register via a link listed on the center’s Instagram account @wajahbaru_tim. The number of visitors is limited to only ten per visit.
The management also requires visitors to show a vaccination certificate of at least one dose, bring a water bottle or tumbler, and safety shoes if they have one.
“We offer a tour to the site or dialogue about the development progress. We ensure the area is safe,” said Hendro.
To date, the revitalization project of Taman Ismail Marzuki at Cikini of South Jakarta has been 99-percent completed, including the construction of a parking building, Gedung Panjang, and Amir Hamzah Mosque.
