TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo underlined that he expected no more bribery in the bureaucracy. He made the statement during the launching of the latest version of the Online Single Submission (OSS) licensing system using a Risk-Based Approach.
“I no longer want to hear about the difficulties faced by entrepreneurs and no longer want to hear about bribery. Everything must be done openly, transparently, and easier for entrepreneurs,” said the President in a virtual press conference on Monday, August 9.
He called on the public to make a report to him if government officials committed the violation or attempted to do so.
“Once again, I emphasize that this licensing system reform is intended to provide ease of doing business for micro, small, medium, and large businesses,” he said. “Encourage more new entrepreneurs, accelerate the transformation of the informal sector into the formal sector, and most importantly to create as many jobs as possible.”
He explained the risk-based approach system was a highly significant reform in business licensing as its online services were integrated with the risk-based licensing paradigm.
According to him, the type of permit would also be adjusted to the risk level. Licensing for SMEs and large businesses will not be the same, the state head added.
With the improvement of the licensing system, Jokowi believed that the ease of doing business in Indonesia would improve. Thus, he asked ministers and institutions as well as governors, regents, mayors, to be disciplined to follow the ease in the OSS.
