Only the Vaccinated Can Visit Tanah Abang Market, Says Management

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The popular Tanah Abang Market in Central Jakarta has been reopened by its market management as of Monday, July 26, following the slackened public activity restrictions or PPKM Level 4 today. The market had been closed since the enforcement of the Emergency PPKM on July 3.

However, the market is limited to serving 50 percent of its capacity and some restrictions are in effect.

“Visitors are required to show COVID-19 vaccine cards, at least of the first dose,” said Heri Supriyatna of the Tanah Abang Market management on July 23, Antaranews reported.

He said this was aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19 at the market, which on any given day amid the pandemic can accommodate over 35 thousand people.

According to Heri, the market management logged that more than 21 thousand traders and employees across the Tanah Abang Market Block A, B, F, and G, had been vaccinated against COVID-19. Opening hours are also slashed to 15:00 Western Indonesia Time (WIB) amid the PPKM Level 4.
