Indonesia Continues to Break Daily Case Records with 24,836 New Infections Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Covid-19 situation worsens in Indonesia as the country sets yet another new record in daily infections rate. On Thursday, July 1st, the National Covid-19 Task Force recorded 24,836 new infections over the last 24 hours.

Today's daily count is a new high, breaking the previous record set yesterday when 21,807 new infections were confirmed.

This brings the country's Covid-19 caseload to 2,203,108 since the novel coronavirus was first detected in March 2020.

On Thursday, authorities also recorded 504 new deaths from Covid-19, bringing the total to 58,995.

The number of new infections today far exceeded the 9,874 cases number of new recoveries. To date, Indonesia has recorded 1,890,287 Covid-19 recoveries.
