Couple Who Attacked Makassar Cathedral Wed by JAD Member, Police Say

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian police revealed that the married couple who committed suicide bombing at the Makassar Cathedral are linked to the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) militant group. Indonesian National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that the couple, L and YSF, were wed by a prominent member of JAD.
According to Sigit, the two of them were married off by a man named Rizaldi about six months ago. The Police Chief said Rizaldi is a member of JAD who was involved in the bomb attack on the Cathedral Church in Jolo, Philippines.
"We arrested Rizaldi in January," Sigit said at the South Sulawesi Regional Police Headquarters, Monday, March 29.
Sigit also said that the couple had even left a will addresses to their parents. "They said goodbye and said they were ready to die as martyrs," Sigit said.
The bomb attack at Makassar Cathedral on the morning of March 28, one week before Easter, left 20 people injured.
