TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned Enterprises (SOE) Deputy Minister Pahala Mansury confirmed that the total transactions in the digital marketplace platform initiated by SOE Minister Erick Thohir, Pasar Digital UMKM or PaDi UMKM, reached Rp11.4 trillion as of January 2021, or 5.5 months since it was launched on August 17, 2020.
“This is certainly a good start,” said Pahala in the opening ceremony of PaDi UMKM Virtual Expo on Monday, February 15.
PaDi UMKM is a digital marketplace platform launched by the SOE Ministry led by Erick Thohir in collaboration with the Cooperatives and SMEs Ministry, the National Public Procurement Agency (LKPP), and nine SOEs, namely Telkom, BRI, PT. Waskita, Wijaya Karya, Pupuk Indonesia, Pertamina, Pegadaian, and PT PNM.
The e-commerce aimed at opening market access for MSMEs to the procurement of government goods and services, especially SOEs, so that one of the features provided via its official website, padiumkm.id, is electronic procurement or e-procurement.
According to Pahala, the partnership between SOEs and MSMEs through the marketplace is necessary to boost the value chain and supply chain ecosystems, especially for the resilience and competitiveness of the products of the nation's children.
In addition, PaDi UMKM is expected as a fast measure for national economic recovery amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Pahala assessed that the Rp11.4 trillion in transactions was still a small part of the potential that could be developed through the marketplace.
