TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Thursday signalled there is a chance that highly mobile people could be prioritized to receive Covid-19 vaccine shots, parallel to the ongoing vaccination of public healthcare workers.
“People who are highly mobile could be prioritized to receive the vaccines. For examples, markets and service sectors with high interactions with other people,” said the President as he opened the national meeting with city administrators’ association at the State Palace on February 11.
He said the second wave of Coronavirus vaccinations on healthcare workers is expected to be completed. He reassured that the general public that could receive the Covid-19 vaccine will not be able to obtain it themselves but will be a receiver along with other people in their circle that share the same high-mobility nature.
Simply, President Jokowi said, this vaccination will not target individuals but groups or clusters to reach the herd immunity. “Detailed planning must start and already be mapped out.” he said.
