TEMPO.CO, JakartaMinister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, suggests the type of vacation that is deemed proper for 2021, following the closure of many destinations during the 2021 New Year holiday.

“For those who want to spend a holiday, I suggest you go on a staycation. If not at home, you may want to stay at a hotel that implements a strict and discipline standard that we call CHSE,” the minister said at Thamrin 10 Food & Creative Park, Central Jakarta, Thursday, December 31, 2020.

CHSE stands for Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment. The CHSE certificate is given by the tourism ministry to tourism businesses or related facilities, the community, and tourist destinations.

“Well, of course, it is best to stay at home. But if you still want to celebrate together, our advice is to stay at hotels that apply strict health protocols,” Sandiaga Uno remarked.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said his side banned the 2021 new year celebration, which is contained in the Governor Instruction and Issuance from related departments.

Jakarta bans musical, fireworks, dances, culinary, and cultural activities, including for the business industry.

“We ban hotels, restaurants, destinations, and all to perform New Year celebratory activities,” Riza Patria said.
