KPK Seizes 8 Bikes, Rp4bn Cash from Edhy Prabowo's Official House

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Corruption Eradication Commission or KPK confiscated eight bicycles during the search at the official house of the former Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Edhy Prabowo. The bikes were allegedly bought with bribes from the export of lobster seeds.

“We have secured eight bicycles that are allegedly purchased with bribes money,” said the KPK acting spokesman Ali Fikri on Thursday, December 3, 2020.

The anti-graft body conducted a search at Edhy's official residence situated on Jalan Widya Chandra V, Jakarta, on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020. Other than the bikes, the investigators also confiscated cash totaling Rp4 billion in Rupiah and foreign currencies.

Other pieces of evidence were also seized in the form of documents and electronic tools. Ali said the investigation team would analyze all items and documents and process them into evidence in this case.

Edhy Prabowo allegedly received Rp3.4 billion related to the export of lobster seeds. He was suspected of being the real owner of PT Aero Citra Kargo, the only company that had a permit to transport lobster larvae from Indonesia to other countries.

The KPK suspected that the company received transportation money valuing Rp9.8 billion, and some were channeled to Edhy Prabowo and 5 other suspects.
