TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) had sent Indonesia 20 tons of medical equipment assistance to handle the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which includes personal protective equipment (PPE/APD), face masks, and hand sanitizers that arrived early on Tuesday, April 28.
“This is proof of the friendship between Indonesia and the UAE,” said Foreign Affairs Ministry’s Middle East director, Rizal Purnama, in today’s press conference streamed on Youtube.
According to Rizal, the UAE airplane that transported the medical assistance will return home to the Middle East carrying fruit and vegetable products that were produced by Indonesia’s small-to-middle sized businesses.
“This is so we can mitigate the economic and social impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic,” he continued.
