TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The South Tangerang City Government has officially opened the COVID-19 Monitoring Center (Rumah Lawan COVID-19) utilized as a quarantine zone for People under Monitoring (ODP), located in the Tandon region, Ciater, on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
“Because this is a center, we equip the facilities to make (patients) feel as homey as possible. In the patient’s room which has been sealed off, there is air conditioning and television," said the COVID-19 Monitoring Center Coordinator, Dr. Suhara Manulang, on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.
In addition to the provision of television allowing patients to access news or other entertainment programs, the COVID-19 Monitoring Center has also been equipped with wifi access for patients who want to see the news online. The COVID-19 Monitoring has 148 beds, 85 units of which are for men and 63 units are for women.
"There is also a place for ironing clothes and washing machines as well as toilet facilities. Drinking water dispensers and prayer rooms (are also available), as the patients will be in the COVID-19 Monitoring Center for 14 days," Suhara said.
To monitor the patient's activities, continued Suhara, CCTVs have been installed at several points, to make surveillance easier if there are patients who need help. The patients treated at the COVID-19 Monitoring Center are based on referral and verification from the community health centers (Puskesmas).
If during treatment there are patients whose health is deteriorating, the health employees will immediately take the patient to referral hospitals, as the COVID-19 Monitoring Center is only intended for ODP patients without any symptoms and Patients under Surveillance (PDP) with mild symptoms.
“The point here (the COVID-19 Monitoring Center) is a centralized quarantine zone, if self isolation is not possible,” added Suhara.
