TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned electricity firm PLN clarified that rumors saying it would provide compensation for people carrying out remote working or work from home (WFH) during the emergency period of the coronavirus outbreak is a hoax.
Previously, the information was widely circulated on social media platforms with a link attachment directing people to fill their data in the online form. However, the PLN management dismissed the issue and confirmed it was a false circular.
“We can ensure that it is not true,” said Executive Vice President of the PLN Corporate Communication and CSR, I Made Suprateka, in a written statement on Sunday, March 29.
Made explained that the link attached in the chain message noting the electricity compensation was made during the mass blackout in August 2019. “So it is not a compensation for the WFH policy,” he asserted.
