TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A 38 years old man was arrested by Depok Police for growing marijuana as an ornamental plant. Depok Police Chief Commissioner Azis Andriansyah said the man grows marijuana in flowerpots and placed them in his house.

"We find two big pots that contain two cannabis plants," said Azis in Depok Police Office, Thursday, February 20, 2020.

Azis said, based on Rohim's confession, he grows the cannabis plants since it has unique shape. But the police are still exploring the motives. "He said it is for collection but sometimes he also consumes it," said the police.

He said that the arrest began when the police carry out further investigation on a drug trafficking case.

"Initially we arrested two methamphetamine dealers and then we found that Rohim ordered meth from these dealers," Azis said.

Rohim is facing a charge of Article 114 paragraph (1) and Article 112 paragraph (1) or Article 111 paragraph (1) of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison.
