Ways to Help Maintain Your Eye Health While Playing Video Games

30 January 2020 09:26 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Many people are getting addicted to playing video games since it has various options to play. They will play video games in their leisure time, on the traffic or even on a busy day.

Unfortunately, if you like to play video games too often you will experience various eye health problems. An eye specialist from the Jakarta Eye Center (JEC) Hospital, Nina Asrini Noor, explained some of the eye problems you may get including dry eyes, nearsightedness, and eye irritation.

Maintaining eye health is a must. Nina then suggested increasing the intensity of blinking because when playing games, people will concentrate more so that they often to forget to blink.

"Blinking is important to refresh the eye surface and to keep it moist and awake because the ability to see is very dependent on the eye surface," said Nina during the Media Gathering event in Jakarta on Wednesday, January 29, 2020.

Nina suggested that everyone need to remember on how long they have play the game and always remember when to stop. According to Nina, taking a break for 10 minutes to get off the screen in every one hour of playing can reduce eyestrain.

Nina also urges to use anti-radiation glasses to limit the radiation that can decrease your vision quality due to technology used to play video games.
