Jokowi: Give Police Chance to Prove Novel Baswedan's Attackers

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has asked members of the public to give the police institution a chance to prove that the two arrests are indeed responsible for the acid attack against Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) senior investigator Novel Baswedan.
“Please don’t constantly argue before and after [the suspects] are found. Give the police a chance to prove that they are indeed the suspects,” said President Jokowi during his visit to Semarang’s Kota Lama in Central Java today.
Not only did he then express appreciation for the work done by police, Jokowi also called for people to collectively monitor the case’s investigation process.
“Don’t let negative speculations arise,” said the president. “Whatever it is, the important thing is to monitor it and not let the same incident happen again. That is what’s important.”
