TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said that he will summon the organizer of the Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) music festival, which was held last week.
"We will summon them to demand their commitment," said Anies in Cipinang, East Jakarta on Friday, December 20, 2019.
Anies explained that he will question the organizer's commitments regarding the event establishment, including guaranteeing that no illegal drug distribution and free sex during the electronic dance music festival.
According to Anies, he will later compare his team's discovery in the field and the organizer's commitment and reports.
"Our team was at the event, monitoring and collecting data. We will conduct an evaluation," the Governor remarked.
However, Anies was reluctant to provide details of his team's findings. "We will announce it after this case is closed," Anies said.
Jakarta Tourism and Culture Agency had finally issued a permit for DWP event under several conditions, such as meeting all requirements set by the city administration and submitting a written statement. This was done following public protests voiced by several organizations.
