Rizieq Shihab's Prerecorded Call for the Fall of 'Lawless Regime'

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Munajat 212 event held at Jakarta’s National Monument (Monas) last night showed a video of Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) leader Rizieq Shihab leading a prayer and calling his followers to fight against what he considers a “lawless regime and blasphemy backers.”
The speech of the fugitive man was reportedly prerecorded from his current location in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. “We are ready to sink the seditious regime, the regime that backs blasphemous people. Oh God, destroy all form of tyranny,” said Shihab.
His speech also questioned the country’s biased law enforcement and why criticizers of the authority are legally condemned.
Based on Tempo’s observation at the event, several known names present in the Munajat 212 include the House of Representatives (DPR) deputy speaker Fadli Zon, House of Representative deputy speaker Fahri Hamzah, and the people’s consultative assembly (MPR) deputy Hidayat Nur Wahid.
The National Mandate Party (PAN) senior founder Amien Rais, 212 brotherhood chairman Slamet Maarif, and campaign team members for the number 2 presidential candidate Neno Warisman and Titiek Soeharto, also attended the event.
