Mount Agung Spews Lava

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Earlier at 04:34 AM central Indonesia time, Bali's Mount Agung was seen spewing lava for 3 minutes and 40 seconds, however, no ash clouds were observed during the occurence.
Head of Mount Agung's monitoring post in Denpasar, Dewa Made Merthe Yasa, explained that the unobserved ash cloud was detected from the seismograph data.
"The eruption was recorded in a seismograph with a maximum amplitude of 17mm and duration that lasted approximately for 3 minutes and 40 seconds," said Dewa.
Dewa also warned tourists, hikers, and general residents living in the vicinity of the volcano to avoid the 4-kilometer danger zone around the volcano's vicinity. The Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation Center (PVMBG) has set alert level III for Mount Agung.
