Jokowi: Many Investors Plan to Develop Industries in Ngawi

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo said there many investors planning to set up industrial zones in Ngawi, East Java. The president said that this is the effect of the Trans Java toll road construction.
With the toll road access, Jokowi said that Ngawi's industrial areas will attract more investors.
"Land prices are still low and human resources are still quite competitive," Jokowi said at the Bandar interchange of Jombang Regency, Thursday, December 20.
Additionally, the toll road allows travels between Ngawi and Surabaya to take less than 2 hours.
According to the president, there is a request for 200 hectares of land to be turned into an industrial zone in Ngawi. The president said, there is also a request for 400 hectares of land in Caruban, Madiun and 200 hectares in Nganjuk.
With the increasing demand for investment opportunities, Jokowi hopes that more jobs would be available to Indonesians.
He also hopes the Trans Jawa toll road will be integrated with special economic zones, as it would make everything more efficient.
This morning, Jokowi inaugurated four new lanes at the Trans Jawa toll road. He signed four inscriptions for the Ngawi-Kertosono segment (37.9 km), Jombang-Mojokerto (0.9 kilometer), Porong-Gempol (6.3 km), and Gempol-Pasuruan (13.65 km).
