TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police Deputy Chief Comr. Gen. Syafruddin has supported the government's regulation on the additional collective leave during the 2018 Eid homecoming. “It would be better to add more days [collective leave] so that the traffic could be spread,” he said at the Vice Presidential Palace today.
Syafruddin said the police were set to anticipate traffic congestion, allowing for the completion of toll roads heading up to Semarang.
Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani, meanwhile, has decided to review the regulation and said the results would be announced this week.

Puan explained the evaluation would take into account every related aspect, including the economy and social matters. She expected the long holiday of Eid al-Fitr would neither hamper the country's economic productivity nor reduce the time for Muslims for gatherings, known as silaturahmi, ahead of the fasting month and Eid al-Fitr.
