Market Operation Done in 4,000 Places Every Day During Ramadan

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Agriculture Minister Suleiman Amran said during this year’s Ramadan, the ministry conduct market operations on a large scale at 4,000 points every day throughout Indonesia.
He said that the move is made as an effort to stabilize prices of staple food.
"So we are doing massive at a massive scale. We go many places all over Indonesia. There are 4,000 places every day. The short-term solution is to conduct large-scale market operation ahead of the Eid Day," the Minister said while attending market operations at Pasar Minggu in South Jakarta on Sunday.
During the market operations, Amran said that the issue of food commodities cannot be by the Agriculture Ministry alone but must also involved other relevant ministries.
"We must be in a synergy. We must eliminate sectoral egoism. This food commodity issue cannot be resolved only by one ministry alone, the Ministry of Agriculture. In fact, Ministry Industry Ministry, Trade Ministry, Cooperatives Ministry must also be involved,” he added.
