TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-The Regional Representative Council (DPD) set an extraordinary plenary meeting today, January 29, questioning SOE Minister Rini Soemarno over the bullet train project.
"With all due respect, I regret that the government does not seem to take the bullet train matter seriously," said Irman Gusman, one of the DPD members. "Public still think that the project is a dummy," he said.
"The government said that it will not use the State Budget. But this is a project from the SOE Ministry. I don't think it is possible for them to avoid using [State Budget]," he added.
Minister Rini, responding to all the heat, said, "I had nothing to do with it. DPD can ask the board of directors [of Indonesia-China Bullet Train]," said Rini.
The meeting was attended by the SOE Minister Rini Soemarno and president director of PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia Cina (KCIC), Hanggoro Budi Wiryawan.
