TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) destroys 164.4kg of crystal meth at BNN parking lot, Cawang, East Jakarta, on Tuesday, December 15.
BNN also seized 141 pills of ecstasy, which were both scorched using an incinerator. “The evidences were obtained from five narcotic cases during the last ten days of this month,” BNN Chief Budi Waseso said Tuesday, December 15.
The first case was unveiled November 12 at a gas station in Gunung Sahari, involving AL (27) and MB (27), where 807.5 grams of meth were seized.
The second case was disclosed November 14, involving a 21-year-old foreign citizen, TVT, at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The suspect flew from Guangzhou, China, to Indonesia carrying 785.5 grams of meth.
The third case was revealed on November 16, involving 37-year-old with initials BP, during a drug transaction in front of Baranangsiang Vocational school, Bogor, where 1.7kg meth were confiscated.
The fourth case was unveiled by BNN on November 18, involving police personnel AM (37), who was arrested for allegedly controlling the circulation of 1.1kg meth and 141 pills of ecstasy. AM was apprehended in a hotel room in Balikpapan.
The fifth case was disclosed on November 19 involving TL (35), in possession of 116kg of meth. BNN managed to apprehend Chinese-born CB, who were then killed after he tried to escape and jumped out of an apartment.
“The 10 suspects are threatened with Article 114 subsection 2, Article 112 subsection 2, and Article 132 subsection 1 of Law No.35 in 2009 on Narcotics with a maximum threat of death penalty or live imprisonment,” said Budi Waseso.
