TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bojonegoro's Muhammadiyah orphanage expressed its readiness to accommodate the Rohingya children who are now in the Rohingya refugee camp in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD). The Bojonegoro government will help the Rohingya children for living and socializing in the orphanage.
Chairman of Bojonegoro's Muhammadiyah orphanage, Abdul Wahid, said there have been a confirmation by the Government of Bojonegoro related to patterns of fostering Rohingya children refugee. According to Abdul, for the early stages, the orphanage will take as many as 10 people in foster care. "We are ready for their meals, drink, and education," he told Tempo Friday, May 22, 2015.
Wahid said that the Rohingya children will be learning entrepreneurial skill in the Muhammadiyah orphanage. The foundation will also fund them for school starting the from elementary school until university level.
Department of Manpower of Transmigration and Social (Disnakertransos) of Bojonegoro, Adi Wicaksono, stated that he already knew about the program. Later on, the Bojonegoro Government will provide assistance to the Rohingya children refugee.
"Yes, we are going to provide assistance," said Adi. He also explained that the Bojonegoro Regent, Suyoto, had officially appointed Muhammadiyah orphanage to assist the Rohingya children refugee.
