TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The government will be using three or four Garuda Indonesia aircraft to fly participants of the Asian-African Conference (AAC) KAA) from Jakarta to Bandung.
The Presidential chief of staff Luhut Pandjaitan said at the State Palace today that the airplanes will be used as transports for delegates and state leaders. He also said that four or five state leaders will be using their own private jets.
"As of yesterday we heard there might be four or five [state leaders] will travel on their own jets," he said as quoted by antaranews.com.
He said the government is looking for ways and places to park the planes.
"We're figuring out how and where the planes would take off and land, but our friends at the Air Force are making arrangements now," he said.
During the conference, there will be 18 bilateral meetings held in Jakarta. Some participants, he said, will be traveling from Bandung to Jakarta by car.
"At night, President Joko Widodo will be riding in the same car with China President Tiongkok Xi Jinping and—if I'm not mistaken—the Sultan of Brunei," he said.
