TEMPO.CO, Albacete - Spainish Defense Ministry said that a Greek F-16 fighter jet has crashed into other planes on the ground during a NATO training session in Albacete, Spain, on Monday January 26, 2015. The crash killed at least 10 people and injured 13 others.
The plane was on the process of taking off when it crashed into an area of the Los Llanos airbase, crashing into parked planes. "The jet that crashed was taking part in a NATO training exercise called the Tactical Leadership Program [TLP]," The Spanish ministry said in a statement.
The incident sent flames and a plume of black smoke into the air, as captured in a video footage. Emergency crews were then deployed to douse the flame and determine how much damage there was to other planes involved in the exercise.
