TEMPO.CO, Shandong - Zhuangzhuang, a newborn male elephant baby cried out for five hours after being stomped by his rejecting mother.
"Zhuangzhuang was very upset. He kept crying for five hours until a zookeeper calmed him down," said one of the zoo spokespersons as quoted by Daily Mail on Wednesday. Zhuangzhuang cried like a human boy; he really shed tears.
This was happenned at the Wild Animal Natural reserve area in Ringcheng, Shandong Province, China. The newborn baby was stomped by her mother after the birth, August 30. The zookeepers took the baby from the cage for medication and returned him to her mother's care again, thinking it was an accident. The mother however seemed to intentionally stomp the baby once again.
The zookeepers were finally aware that mommy rejected her baby. Zhuangzhuang was then separated from his mother. Due to the pain (or maybe heartbroken), Zhuangzhuang did not stop to shed tears for five hours, although doctor could not find any serious injuries on his body.
