TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State toll road operator PT Jasa Marga predicted the peak of the return flow of Christmas and New Year holiday travelers will fall today, January 1, 2024.
The majority of the vehicles returning to Greater Jakarta via toll road are expected from the east or from Trans-Java and Bandung which may reach 140,000 vehicles. The number increased by 28 percent from the same year-end holiday period in the previous year.
Jasa Marga appeals the road users to extend the holiday period for those who might be able to do it, so the trip would be more comfortable
"To avoid returning home at the same time on Monday and Tuesday, or January 1-2, by shifting travel time with the options today, December 31, 2023, or on Wednesday, January 3, 2024," said Jasa Marga Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head, Lisye Octaviana, in an official statement on Sunday, December 31, 2023, in Jakarta.
He reminded road users that on Wednesday, January 3, they can use a 10 percent discount at Trans-Java Toll for a continuous return journey from Semarang to Jakarta via Kalikangkung Toll Gate to Cikampek Utama Toll Gate.
The discounted tariff is effective starting from 00:00 WIB (Western Indonesia Time) until 24:00 WIB, or 24 hours, for all types of vehicles.
Jasa Marga also calls on the road users to anticipate well the trip in the 2023 year-end holiday period.
Before entering the toll road, make sure the vehicle and driver are in good condition, continue to comply with health protocols (wearing a mask) when in the rest area, ensure sufficient fuel and electronic money balances, and obey the signs and directions of officers in the field.
Road users can access updated traffic information and toll road service requests via Jasa Marga’s 24-hour One Call Center at 14080, X social media formerly known as Twitter @PTJASAMARGA, as well as the Travoy app for iOS and Android users.
