TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency or BMKG forecasted rain to fall evenly over Greater Jakarta area, or Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi, at the beginning of December today, Friday, Dec. 1, 2023.
"Beware of rain potential with lightning and strong winds in East Jakarta and South Jakarta in the early evening and parts of Seribu Islands in the early hours of the day," warned BMKG.
At noon, medium rain is forecasted to pour over South and East Jakarta while the rest of the region will be covered in clouds. Meanwhile, light to heavy rain will fall evenly over the region in the evening. The rain will persist until dawn in West Jakarta, North Jakarta, and Seribu Islands.
A drizzle will occur in Bekasi City, Bekasi Regency (Cikarang), Depok, Bogor, and Cibinong (Bogor Regency) at noon and in the evening. At the same time, heavy rain with lightning will drench over Puncak Pass in Bogor including Gadog and Cisarua in the afternoon, where it will ease up in the evening.
"Beware of medium to heavy rain potential with lightning and strong winds at noon and in the evening in parts of Bogor Regency and City, Depok City, and Bekasi Regency and City," BMKG added.
Meanwhile, in Tangerang City, Tangerang Regency, and South Tangerang City (Serpong), rain will fall in the afternoon and ease up into cloudy skies in the evening and dawn.
"Beware of medium to heavy rain potential with lightning and strong winds at noon and in the evening in the southern part of Tangerang Regency and South Tangerang City," BMKG concluded.
