Indonesia Participates in Africa Health 2023 Exhibition

18 October 2023 08:58 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian companies dealing with medical equipment procurement participated in the Africa Health exhibition from October 17 to 19, 2023, at the Gallagher Convention Center in Johannesburg, South Africa. The seven companies attended the exhibition as initiated by the Indonesian Trade and Promotion Center (ITPC) Johannesburg and the Indonesian Medical Equipments Producers Association (ASPAKI).

The Indonesian Embassy in Pretoria informed in its release that the companies participating in the exhibition are  PT Oneject Indonesia,  PT Sugih Instrumendo Abadi, PT Prodia Diagnostic Line, PT Liquid Pharmalab Indonesia, PT Swayasa Prakarsa, PT Kalmed Manufaktur Indonesia and PT Dami Sariwarna.

Indonesian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary for South Africa Saud Purwato Krisnawan inaugurated the Indonesian Pavillion, displaying the promoted equipment in the Africa Health exhibition.

Murdopo, the Vice Head of ITPC Johannesburg stated that this year's exhibition is a great opportunity to promote Indonesian medical equipment in South Africa. "Indonesian participation through the seven companies in this exhibition is part of the measure to explore the potential and opportunity to build trade and investment with South Africa in pharmacy and medical equipment sectors. South Africa as a trade hub must be utilized optimally," he said.

Murdopo also confirmed that the promotion of medical equipment is the Indonesian diversification process. South African market has a big potential for medical equipment considering South Africa's position in regards to the quality of its medical facility.

Trademap, the statistics center, and market research made by UNCTAD/WTO stated that South Africa recorded US$1 billion for medical equipment import value in 2022.
