TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesia-China High-speed Train Company (KCIC) launched the Whoosh mobile app today, Oct. 17. KCIC President Director Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi announced that the promotional fare of Rp300,000 for the Whoosh high-speed train has been dropped to Rp150,000. This fare applies to premium economy class for departures from November 18 to 30, 2023.

“It is hoped that the various ticket promotions of Whoosh presented can attract people's interest to switch from [using private vehicles via] highways to rail-based public transportation, especially fast trains,” Dwiyana said at the launch of the Whoosh app at Halim Station on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

Dwiyana said the promotional fare was given as an effort to support the government's program to reduce traffic congestion and air pollution caused by the high use of private vehicles. This was also to commemorate KCIC’s 8th anniversary, which falls on October 16, and promote the use of its mobile app.

Additionally, KCIC offered rewards or free tickets to passengers who purchased tickets for departures from October 18 to 23, 2023. Passengers could show their tickets and ID at the station counter to get their free tickets. The reward could also be redeemed for departures until November 30, 2023.
