VP Ma'ruf Visits China; Pushes for Halal Industry Investment

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin met ten Chinese entrepreneurs in Fujian, China, on Friday, September 15, 2023. The VP encouraged the entrepreneurs to invest in Indonesia's halal industry.
"There is a great potential to be optimized for the global halal market and between Indonesia and China to strengthen economic cooperation for both countries in the future," he said in a press release quoted on Thursday, September 15, 2023.
VP Ma'ruf mentioned that Indonesia is committed to boosting internal coordination in order to facilitate Chinese companies' investment. The coordination will take the form of an inter-ministries task force and the special agency Two Countries Twin Parks (TCTP).
TCTP is an Indonesia-China strategic partnership to boost industrial investment in the region and in line with the priority development vision of respective countries, "Global Maritime Fulcrum" and Belt and Road Initiative". Indonesia and China signed the MoU for TCTP on January 12, 2021, involving the Yuanghong Industrial Area in Fujian and three of Indonesia's industrial areas in Bintan, Batang, and Semarang.
The meeting between VP Ma'ruf and Chinese entrepreneurs took place at the Grand Ballroom A, Crowne Plaza Fuzhou Riverside Hotel in Fujian, China.
The Chinese halal entrepreneurs participating in the meeting are the Director of Yuanhong Investment Zone Wang Xingxang, the Director of TCTP Center of Investment Promotion Shijie You, CEO of Yuguan Food Co. Ltd. Cui Ren Jie, President Commissioner of Seneheld (Fuqing) Food Co. Ltd. Shi Min, CEO of Yuguan Food Co. Ltd. Lin Xin, CEO of Yushuo Food. Ltd. Weng Senlin, President of Tian Ma Technology. Ltd. Zhang Xu, President of HMECC Yang Guanglin, Chairman of Shanghai Yucui Food Trading Co. Ltd. Zhu Yaofen, and the General Manager of Fujian Zhengguan Fishery Development Co. Ltd. Chen Xiong.
Indonesia currently has three Halal Industrial Areas, namely the Hala Modern Valley in Serang, Halal Industrial Park in Sidoarjo, and Bintan Inti Halal Hub in Bintan.
