TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The provincial government reportedly prepares 24 electric buses to welcome the delegates of the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta. The summit will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center on September 5-7, 2023.

The information was confirmed by the head of the Jakarta Transportation Office Syafrin Liputo. He explained that the electric buses were prepared to accommodate the mobility of ASEAN Summit delegates while in Jakarta.

In addition, the agency will also prepare other facilities to accommodate the ASEAN Summit delegates. The Jakarta Transportation Office will coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to prepare 18 hotels for the delegates to stay in.

"[The Transportation Office] also prepares four routes which will serve eight electric buses, amounting to 24 electric buses while the ASEAN Summit commences," said Syafrin as quoted by Tempo.co from Antara today, Tuesday, August 29, 2023.

Syafrin also mentioned that TransJakarta and MRT will operate as usual during the ASEAN Summit. However, according to Syafrin, 29 roads will implement contraflow during the summit in Jakarta.

"We recommend the public to avoid passing the 29 roads that implement contraflow and choose the alternative routes that we have identified," he said.
