TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan today, Oct. 26, would ink the Gubernatorial Decree (Pergub) on the Jakarta provincial minimum wage (UMP) in 2019.
Jakarta’s Employment Agency head Andri Yansyah said the decision of the 2019 Jakarta UMP was halted to be released on Thursday, pending on the signing of the regulation.
“The Pergub will be signed on Friday. But it will be announced simultaneously throughout 34 provinces on November 1,” said Andri in the City Hall, Thursday, Oct 25.
He said Jakarta’s Remuneration Board on Wednesday held a meeting to discuss the minimum wage in 2019 on the 23rd floor of the City Hall.

During the meeting, the board offered three recommendations. First, the businessmen proposed the rise of the provincial minimum wage by 5 percent from the current UMP regulated in Government Decree (PP) No. 78/2015 or at Rp3.83 million.
Secondly, the workers union proposed an increase of UMP 2019 based on the calculation of the three survey results on the standard living components (KHL) studied by Remuneration Board in 16 markets. The KHL value recorded at Rp3.9 million x 8.03 percent (PP No. 78/2018), and so the 2019 UMP would be RP4.2 million.
Thirdly, the government through Government Decree (PP) No. 78/2018 initiated the rise of the minimum wage in 2019 by 8.03 percent to be RP3.94 million.
“Jakarta administration focus on prospering the community. If the announcement later does not in line with the workers union demand, we will facilitate the difference value,” Andri added.
