TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Police are preparing 8,000 personnel to secure the 2018 Asian Para Games, which will take place in the capital from October 6-13, 2018.
Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono said the number was less than that of the 2018 Asian Games.
“But the security is the same, because it involves the arrival of guests as participants and officials from abroad," Argo said at the Jakarta Police headquarters on Monday, September 10.

The 2018 Asian Para Games will hold 18 sports in three regions, viz. Central Jakarta, East Jakarta and North Jakarta. "There are 11 sports in Central Jakarta," Argo said.
Argo said the police would furnish maximum security and "strive to keep [Indonesia] respected by the foreign community."
He added the police would also coordinate with other agencies. "We have to work together to repeat the success of the 2018 Asian Games at the 2018 Asian Para Games," Argo said.
