TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that the number of foreign tourist arrivals to Indonesia in April 2018 decreased by 4.59 percent from the previous month.

"This is because tourism is affected by the season," BPS chief Suhariyanto said on Monday, June 4.

The number of foreign tourist arrivals in April 2018 was recorded at 1.3 million visits.

Compared to April 2017, this April's number of visits actually increased by 11.04 percent. Suhariyanto said the increase is due to additional flights in several cities in Indonesia.

Compared to last year, the number of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia by air as of April 2018 rose by 4.21 percent. Compared to March 2018, the increase is 0.18 percent.
