TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian National Police spokesperson Brig. Gen. Mohammad Iqbal said that the police are still in negotiation with convicted terrorists following a riot that broke out on Tuesday night.
“We believe that the situation is under control. We’re striving for soft approach,” said Iqbal at the Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) detention center today.

Furthermore, Iqbal confirmed that police will no longer mobilize additional personnel to secure the detention center and the convicted terrorists would be handled with a particular strategy.
However, Iqbal refused to reveal the exact location of the riot. He guaranteed that the clash between prison guards and inmates would not spread to other prison blocks.

Reports said that the incident occurred after the special anti-terrorism police unit (Densus 88) arrested three suspects allegedly linked to radical group Jamaah Ansharut Daullah (JAD).
The suspects, M. Mulyadi, Abid Faqihuddin, and Anang Rachman, where captured when assembling a Triacetone Triperoxide (TATP) bomb before planning suicide attacks at several police stations in Bogor, West Java.
