TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Metro Police have prepared 10,000 officers to secure Christmas and New Year 2018 activities.
"We will hold operations with the 2017 Lilin Jaya code," Jakarta Police spokesman Comr. Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono said on Monday, December 18.
The operation will be held for ten days from December 23, 2017 until January 1, 2018. "This is a humanitarian operation," he said.

The main target of this operation is worship areas. According to Argo, the police have identified several priority locations such as the Jakarta cathedral.
Another security operation is to have the anti-bomb squad (Gegana team) secure a number of areas in the capital city. Argo said all churches—big and small—will be sterilized.
Argo said the focus of security measures will assigned to resort police working on field. The police will also provide backups for patrolling officers.
For the 2017 Christmas and 2018 New Year celebrations, the police will also open temporary posts in strategic places, such as crowded public spaces, places of worship, stations, and terminals.
