TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is convinced that Indonesia has adequate capacity to mediate the conflict in Afghanistan.

"Indonesia has the capacity to contribute to the peace efforts in Afghanistan," President Jokowi said after hosting a delegation from the Afghan High Peace Assembly at the Grand Garden Restaurant of the Bogor Botanical Garden complex on Tuesday.

According to Jokowi, Indonesia has become a role model for the world, as its people practice a tolerant and moderate form of Islam.

Hence, Indonesia is ready to help Afghanistan resolve the conflict to create peace in the region, Jokowi remarked.
