TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Java Police Public Relation, Commissioner Yusri Yunus, says that there is a link between the Kampung Melayu suicide bomber and the pressure cooker bombing suspect from Cicendo, Bandung, that happened on February. This information was obtained by investigating the wife of Ichwan Nurul Salam. Ichwan is the alleged suspect of the Kampung Melayu bombing.

“After we mapped out the Kampung Melayu bombing, it turned out to be linked with Agus, the Cicendo pressure cooker bomber. The link is Ichwan’s wife that was introduced to Agus. They know each other well,” Yusri said on Thursday, May 25.

Ichwan is also linked to Abu Salam, the alleged terrorist that was arrested at the ‘floating village’ in Purwakarta. “We’re still investigating the network,” Yusri said.

Earlier today on May 25, police and the anti-terror Densus 88 raided the house rented by Ichwan. Police confiscated a number of items such as a knife, military grade tent, a passport of the name Ichwan, and flyers about a certain type of belief.

Police once asked local authorities in Bandung to keep an eye on Ichwan following the Cicendo bombing. “The police actually already had the suspect under their radar. They have also visited his house,” says Yuniar, says an urban village employee in Cibangkong, Bandung.
