TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Acting Jakarta governor Sumarsono, also known as Soni said that the Jakarta administration will support the implementation of Transportation Minister Regulation No. 32/2016 on mass transportation without routes by drafting a governor regulation.
"[The drafting of the governor regulation] will be discussed with the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ)," Soni said at the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta on Thursday, March 23, 2017.
According to Soni, the central government has called on regional governments to disseminate the new regulation on online transportation apps. The Transportation Minister, Soni explained, has provided provincial governments with guidelines.
Soni promised that no conflicts would occur between conventional and online taxis while waiting for a decision from the BPTJ.
"There is no problem with online taxi, because they have been operational," Soni said.
Soni added that the Jakarta administration will issue an instrument set forth in the governor regulation for agency heads.
"Instructions from the central government must be carried out. So we will follow the instruction. Therefore, We must be able to deal with online taxi issues with distinctive conditions in every region," Soni said.
